SUMMARY
Working with general supervision, the Strategy Manager serves as one of the organization’s enterprise-level business development leaders, with broad responsibilities focused on strategic analysis. The manager gathers, organizes, interprets, and reports large amounts of business performance data, from which he or she makes relevant, strategic, and actionable recommendations for consideration by the organization’s most senior strategic leaders. This role leverages broad, albeit detailed, financial acumen; along with knowing how economic, competitive, financial, operational, systems, processes, and talent factors influence an organization’s success and long-term sustainability and business value. The incumbent understands how to analyze quantitative and qualitative measures to complete enterprise-level forecasting and works closely with senior leaders from multiple functions and members of the Strategic Business Development team. This role may complete all routine activities and most non-routine activities. The role is generally characterized by moderately high levels of enterprise scope, technical complexity and relational complexity.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Serve as one of the organization’s thought leaders for the development of business integration models with a special focus on new business ventures; and industry forecast
Serve as one of the organization’s thought leaders for the development of the enterprise level agility required for rapid and sustainable growth into new lines of business
Make actionable recommendations to other members of GameStop’s senior leadership team related to overall strategic business growth
Continuously scan internal and external environments in search of opportunities to identify and monetize ventures, lines of business, and business models previously unconsidered
Actively develop external business relationships to help identify potential opportunities/threats in the Video Game and Collectibles category
Closely monitor consumer, economic, and legislative trends that will impact our competitive strategy and prepare related recommendations to the senior leadership team
Support the visioning process across the organization including, but not limited to, helping the senior management team to create and cascade enterprise-level business objectives that can be widely understood by the workforce expected to achieve them
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with other leaders throughout the organization to develop more mature and sustainable strategic planning processes
Provide detailed analysis and identify outcomes by employing sound analytical and statistical concepts
Create an environment that welcomes change and fosters high levels of ingenuity and creative thinking, risk management, and collaboration
Create, develop, and sustain productive business relationships internally and externally needed to achieve GameStop’s global and functional objectives

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

Bachelor’s degree with a focus on one of the following accredited programs: economics, consumer trend analysis and brand development, financial forecasting and reporting, international business management, or strategic marketing; Master of Business Administration degree preferred
At least 5 years of experience and demonstrable, quantifiable success with strategic planning; forecasting; enterprise-level business risk assessment; consumer and economic analysis; enterprise-level business development; and merger, acquisition and strategic partnership relationship management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

Expert understanding of advanced financial analysis techniques using spreadsheet software and statistical analysis
Must be able to design forecasting models that present relevant, timely business projections and processes in a concise manner for use by top management in decision making
Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members
Expert ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
Expert relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
Proficient ability to develop and deliver compelling business proposals to an audience of varying responsibility within the company and to external audiences including financiers and potential business partners
