Full Job Description
This position will be a “utility player”, able to perform, at least minimally, many of the duties of positions found in a professional-grade green screen studio. These may include -
Audio Technician Duties - Uses, configures and manages audio systems in a professional video studio used for live broadcasts and recordings. Work tasks may include:
Experience with PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2, and StudioLive 16
Able to mic personal correctly with headset microphones and lapel lavalier microphones
Able to mute and unmute channels with 10 people or more at one time
Mix minus levels to meet online broadcasting standards
Work with remote presenters using Skype or Go To Meeting as audio input
Knowledgeable of Dante systems
Ability to troubleshoot various audio system problems as they arise
Understand audio wiring and network issues related to audio in a professional studio
Knowledge of audio outputs and inputs from-and-to video switching systems
Good verbal communication skills, ability to listen well, and perform under pressure
Video Technician Duties – Set up, maintain and operate video equipment in green screen studio and control room. Work tasks may include:
Knowledge of Tricaster 8000 or TC1 systems and NDI Tool Pack.
Works with Director/Producer to prep graphics and videos for live events.
Use Adobe Production Suite to edit promos and design virtual sets that coordinate with the course instructor’s show; creates visual live real-time graphics to be used during live shows.
Coordinates with technical team to ensure Tricaster stream setting configurations are implemented correctly.
Coordinates with third party captioners to provide open captioning during live events.
May include video configuration layouts identified for documentation.
Teleprompter Duties - Manage teleprompting equipment in a professional-grade studio. Work tasks may include:
Locate, upload and edit the teleprompter script during rehearsals and recordings.
Operate a Teleprompter wheel to assist presenters during live streaming broadcasts and recordings.
On Screen Presenter Duties - May perform as an on screan facilitator or host for live event training broadcasts or organizational meetings. Work tasks may include –
Interacts with instructional material presenters and studio director.
Read and coordinate student questions, answers and input for live training events
Assistant Director Duties – Performs as an assistant director in a professional-grade green screen studio environment. Work tasks may include –
Direct or assist in directing on screen talent and studio technicians for live streaming broadcasts.
Help to maintain schedules for video events
Script preparation - work with instructional video designers and producers to customize event scripts
Actively monitor and engage with on screen presenters during and after live event broadcasts
Work directly with Director, Producer, Floor Manager and onscreen talent to assist in the planning, organization, and administration of communication campaigns.
Assist in preparation for future live events, reporting, and provide general support for the ongoing studio operations
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related to audio engineering, videography, film management, etc, or 8 years of relevant work experience
Professional, clear, engaging, and proper onscreen presence
Ability to communicate in a live studio environment, including interactions with on screen presenters and studio crews
Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities simultaneously.
Flexibility and the capacity to implement and learn new skills and concepts quickly.
Good problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
OTHER SKILLS PREFERRED
Demonstrated ability to identify creative and innovative ways to perform job duties
Prior experience with the Dept of VA
