Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking a Finance Manager for the Business Office. The Finance Manager will report to the Controller, and assist in the preparation of financial analysis and reports for the University's annual audit and other special projects, plus assist with student AR accounts and other tasks as needed.
The Finance Manager will prepare, record, and reconcile asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and procedures; prepare schedules, research issues, and provide data as needed. This position will assist in preparing yearly reports within and outside the University, develop reports to manage and reconcile between student aged receivables, general ledger and sub-ledgers. The Finance Manager will assist the Student Accounts team with student accounts process for collection of all overdue accounts, including sending accounts to collections and overseeing resolution of issues when needed.
The Finance Manager will also prepare and monitor student account sponsorship activity, monitor and compile investment data. This position will also work with our external firms and auditors, participating in auditing projects and analysis, or providing information and access to accounting records as required, manage compilation of 990 tax return information for external firm, and manage compilation of GAAP financial statements for annual audit.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance. Experience with 990's and GAAP Financials a must. This position requires 3-5 years progressive experience in student accounts and general ledger accounting. Strong understanding of use of Excel spreadsheets, Word and general ledger software (Ellucian preferred). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Team player with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in busy office.
