Job Description: The Electronics Technician III (ET III) will lead the physical security aspects of the Access Control System (ACS) located at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The ET III position requires (a) the comprehensive knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics such as a knowledge of basic electricity and electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics, (b) the ability to apply that knowledge to duties involved in engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment, and (c) a knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems. Such knowledge is related to but less than a full professional knowledge of electronics engineering. Applicant will be responsible for ensuring monthly, semi-annual, and annual Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) to all assigned systems. Applicant will continuously monitor assigned equipment status and corrects faults in a timely manner. The ET III records all repair, non-repair, and PMCS data into the information management system. The ET III will lead basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from his/her supervisor. Technician should possess a working knowledge of ACS Hardware/Software to include, but not limited to: Avigilon software, AMAG Symmetry Security Management System, Axis Surveillance Products, and Dedicated DVRs. Electronics Technician II will be required to diagnose and troubleshoot any problems that are associated with the system and work with network administrators, and Senior Computer Network Technologist to resolve all issues. Required Skills/ Qualifications:
Active Security Clearance Required
1-3 years related experience in IT and support
Lead and provide oversight for ACS software and hardware maintenance and project activities
Coordinate with vendors during the design, installation, operation and maintenance of security access control system equipment including card readers, alarm points, camera system and associated peripherals including remote locations.
Lead administration of all associated security hardware including CCTV, intercoms, tailgate detection system, card readers, Maglocks, balanced door contacts and local alarms.
Lead, Integrate, install, test, and repair computers, badge printers, closed circuit television, and other access control devices in accordance with appropriate specifications and standards.
Lead camera maintenance tasks on pan tilt zoom (PTZ) cameras.
Create and maintain accurate process documentation, drawings, inventory, and records
Perform technical, operational, and training support for security personnel on the access control system either by telephone, or on-site for system hardware and software issues.
Knowledge of Server/Client relationships.
Knowledge and understanding of DOD physical security standards
Valid driver’s license
High School Diploma. AA Degree in Electronics or related field desirable.
DOD 8570.m01 certification (i.e. A+, Network+ or Security+ certifications required)
