POSITION PROFILE

The Logistics Analyst facilitates and expedites the movement of materials to and from various points. Works with Production, Vendors, Distribution Operations, Carriers, Custom Brokers, Customs Compliance, Transportation Management and Customers. Initiates, develops and implements new processes, process improvements, cost savings, performance metrics, exception management reporting. Completes various analytic projects. Works with carriers to prioritize, manage and schedule freight to meet delivery deadlines. Develops new reports, runs reports, analyzes reports and distributes reports with analysis and recommendations. Ensures on-time delivery to final destination and compliance with all international shipping requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide expert knowledge in support of transportation management.

Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments and change service level to meet delivery requirements.

May create commercial invoices in compliance with export regulations.

Review daily carrier shipping reports to ensure routing and transit time compliance.

Tracking, tracing, rating, and routing shipments.

Identify core issues and address by providing advanced analytical/business/technical solutions.

Provide Customer Service on "Helpdesk" for all Domestic location(s) regarding carriers and service.

Inputs data and performs analysis on claims levels by mode, on time service, and transportation costs, etc.

Completes month end closing (chargeback files) and other necessary accounting functions.

Perform transportation/logistics analysis, reviewing carrier performance.

Perform cost/benefit analysis and present multiple alternative scenarios.

Automate existing process to ensure accuracy and reduce time requirements.

Develop and prepare monthly carrier performance reports.

Identify methods and areas to improve service, reduce freight costs, and streamline processes.

Develops procedures for processes that are sketched out but not defined in detail, including interviewing users, drafting procedures, and validating with users.

Supports projects to improve transportation costs and shipment accuracy.

Performs other job duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Typically Required:
Relevant college degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field

Two years experience, as an analyst, with a background in financial reporting.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required, advanced competency in Excel and other desktop software.

Knowledge of financial software SAP or equivalent

Strong financial awareness, monitoring, coordination and reconciliation.

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Customer Service experience is required.
