Responsible for working at the HCC Library as scheduled; provides service to students and faculty at the Library service desk. Works under the direction of the User Experience Librarian to maintain patron records, process and collect fines and to circulate Interlibrary Loan (ILL) materials.
Checks library materials in and out and resolves problems that may arise. Collects overdue fines and clears patron records. Provides library users with information regarding circulation and procedures and answers directional questions, both in person and over the phone. Refers patrons to proper departments for assistance.
Communicate issues and problems via the circulation log for staff to ensure timely follow-up.
Shelves books on a daily basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum 2 year college degree.
Bachelor's degree, preferred.
Previous work experience in a library setting, preferred
Good customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Ability to stand 90% of the time.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and bend
Fine motor skills for operation of computer terminals
Hours Per Week: maximum of 25 hours
Work Schedule: Monday 6:00-11:00 PM; Tuesday 5:00-11:00PM; Thursday 5:00-11:00PM; Saturday and Sunday 1:00-5:00PM
Compensation: $14.00 per hour
Grade: Part time, no benefits
