St Luke’s Children’s Center for Neurobehavioral Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our incredibly capable and fun team. We are searching for a physician to play an integral part of the Children’s Mental and Behavioral Health team who will provide a blended service of outpatient hours and consult liaison services in Boise, Idaho that has been named the best state to practice.
Our St Luke’s Children’s Mental and Behavioral Health program currently consists of 4 board certified child & adolescent psychiatrists, 7 clinical and neuro psychologists, a psychiatric NP, and 20+ therapists. Our clinics are located in Boise and we will be opening a clinic in Nampa in Spring of 2020. The team also consists of a Day Treatment program and the Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program and we just launched a Pediatric Palliative Care program.
This role will rotate tri-weekly at the Children’s Hospital providing CL services primarily to the pediatric floor and PICU with secondary consultation to the ED. The outpatient schedule will be reduced during weeks providing CL services. Clinic hours are 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. Physicians currently work 4 days per week in clinic. Physicians have approx. 6 clinic hours per day while the rest of the day is spent providing co-management with Primary and Specialty Care and working with the Clinic Nurse on phone calls and questions. There is an optional phone backup call opportunity from home that is reimbursed in addition to the base salary.
We have most pediatric subspecialties available for consultation when indicated and have great collegial relationships with them and the greater pediatric team.
We have a co-management model with primary and specialty care to support them in managing their own patient population of youth with uncomplicated mental health needs. We schedule 90 minutes for a new patient consults and our follow up appointments are 30 minutes long. Psychiatrists share many patients with the therapy team that will consult and provide updates on the patient’s progress or any concerns with one another. We are part of the only Children’s Hospital in the State. We have access to all pediatric specialties for consultation on our patients with medical needs, such as cardiology, GI, and neurology. Because of our EMR, EPIC, we are able to see the patient’s medical history and have a clear picture of their needs.
