Develop advanced analytics to support the continuous advancement of condition based maintenance programs to improve railcar performance and reliability. Partner with Engineering, Operations to design, develop and implement solutions for capturing and analyzing car and car-component data. Leverage advanced analytics and statistical models to evaluate railcar asset health and the effectiveness of maintenance programs. Develop models to forecast maintenance needs on TTX railcars. Develop programs and models that provide valuable insights on metrics. Develop Maximo system knowledge and expertise for support of new system enhancements and analytics and ad hoc system support.
Design, develop and document advanced analytics for (50%)
Strategic fleet maintenance planning
Engineering data science projects
Predictive Analytics for Condition Based Maintenance
Machine Learning prototypes
Respond to ad hoc requests for business intelligence reports by defining the information requirements, gathering and analyzing the appropriate data and writing formal reports (25%)
Maximo support as needed for new system enhancements and advanced analytics (25%)
Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, data analytics or related fields. Statistics classes required.
Experience in utilizing statistical software programs (EG SAS and SAS programming preferred) and Access. Advanced SQL and coding experience required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data analytics, computer science or IT.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Simulation modelling and optimization experience preferred.
Experience in performing trend analyses to identify and report on trends requiring action.
Experience in problem solving abilities to quantify the magnitude of issues, understand contributing factors, and actively support work teams to investigate the root causes to resolve the issues.
A customer service perspective to provide highly accurate and reliable analyses is critical.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond the questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
