Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by managing the development and implementation of large or highly- complex new programs or processes including: identifying key issues, developing the problem solving approach, managing multiple cross- functional teams to conduct analyses, and developing and communicating management level recommendations. Models inclusive leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
Leads project teams and subteams to develop and implement new programs and process improvements. Manages projects in accordance with Starbucks established program management methodologies. Ensures that multiple projects meet specified timelines and deliver expected results.
Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and inclusive design practices to ensure the immediate working team promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
Supports and influences the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company.
Collaborate and contribute with the accessibility center of excellence.
Demonstrates confidence and knowledge of disability accessibility regulations and best practices.
Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results:
Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
Implements strategic approach to inclusive design framework, services, and implementation recommendations that support the achievement of enterprise Inclusion & Diversity goals and strategy.
Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
Creates structured but dynamic presentations illustrating key business issues, new insights and recommendations.
Communicates learnings and insights across cross-functional team, strategy team leadership and executive sponsors. Develops strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
Reviews and provides guidance to cross-functional sub-teams in developing robust and detailed workplans. Manages overall project work plans, defining approach, timing and key deliverables. Ensures that cross-functional team meets all project deliverables and timelines.
Is familiar with universal design principles and practices
Demonstrated skills in influencing peers to adopt universal design practices.
Provides coaching, direction, consultation, and thought leadership on inclusive design with cross functional business partners, centers of excellence, and client groups.
Serves as a strategic liaison between Store Development, Inclusion & Diversity and Starbucks leaders to elevate the role and communicate the value of inclusive design.
Acts as an ambassador and advocates for inclusion, diversity, and accessibility initiatives.
Partner Development & Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities:
Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, including ADA and other disability access requirements.
Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed (as applicable).
Dynamic, and strong communicator
Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities along with detailed financial and statistical understanding
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
Ability to simplify and structure complex and ambiguous problems
Project management skills for large and complex problems involving multiple sub-teams
Strong collaboration and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams
Ability to lead and mentor team members
BS/BA or higher and preferred MBA or masters in related field of study
Demonstrated excellence in leading and enhancing team success, facilitation and thought leadership.
Program management and influencing others are key aspects of your work. (+3 years)
Experience in architectural design, inclusive design or related fields strongly preferred (+2 years)
Ability to positively assess and advise on inclusion, diversity, and accessibility topics (+3 years)
Certified in Universal Design and in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
