Sr. Manager, Medical Affairs-Global Clinical Nutrition
Deerfield, IL or Virtual/Work from Home (US)

This position has a budgeted annual salary range of $136000.00 - $155000.00, plus opportunities for an annual bonus and stock grant.
Provide clinical/technical expertise to Baxter’s Global Clinical Nutrition business unit, with clinical knowledge for the entirety of Nutrition’s product line.
Align his/her team with Global Medical Affairs leaders and clinical development teams.
Critical to this role is the clinical knowledge of product lines with the ability to offer guidance for product support and product development.
About Baxter Global Clinical Nutrition
Baxter has been assisting clinicians in treating patients' diverse nutrient needs since the 1940s, when the company first introduced liquid proteins in the form of amino acids.
Since then, Baxter has continued to advance parenteral nutrition (PN) therapy. As an example, Baxter pioneered the world's first "triple-chamber system" internationally for IV nutrition, which provides many of the essential ingredients of balanced nutrition – protein, carbohydrates, lipids and electrolytes in a single container – simplifying the preparation of PN for patients.
Today, Baxter provides one of the broadest PN portfolios globally, which includes premix IV solutions, vitamins and lipids, as well as pharmacy workflow management, labeling, compounding technology and enteral nutrition syringes and accessories.
Collaborate with KOLs on projects/publications and other BU’s; contribute medical input/ approval of documents to maintain the lifecycle of clinical nutrition products; develop/implement advisory boards.
Collaborate cross-functionally as a medical expert on core team projects for new product/device development/Medical review of advertising promotional (AdProm) material.
Provide high quality, balanced/and timely clinical, medical and scientific information upon request, e.g. Clinical development, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Legal, etc.
Maintain current familiarity of relevant/published medical literature so that information can be provided relating to clinical trends/potential impacts on the product lines
Develop a basic understanding/maintain current knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements related to R&D and product support.
Support our Regulatory and Quality teams by providing clinical input into evaluation of product complaints/adverse events.
Provide clinical expertise for the creation/development of training programs that support sales and marketing efforts.
Train field sales force in dissemination of medical information and/or clinical topics.
Excellent medical writing and oral communication skills.
Design, manage and support global advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, educational forums required by Global Clinical Nutrition.
Identify and communicate new scientific findings and opportunities that could impact Global Clinical Nutrition
Developing and maintain peer–to–peer collaborations and relationships with medical and scientific specialists.
Serve as the medical affair lead for new product development, business development and/or exploratory teams
Maintain compliance with all internal and external legal and regulatory guidelines
Interface with Regional Medical Affairs teams and Commercial teams
Solid knowledge of FDA regulations for medical communications.
Must be able to provide guidance and training to the team regarding applicable medical and clinical requirements and guidelines.
Represent Global Clinical Nutrition in internal and external meetings as requested
Attend and provide support to new product development core teams and exploratory teams
Excellent presentation and teaching skills.
Self-motivated with exceptional follow through.
Education and Experience
5+ years clinical experience
Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree in a scientific discipline is preferred
Clinically skilled, licensed health care professional in Nursing, Pharmacy, or other allied health profession
Recent or ongoing work in a clinical position is desirable, as is experience in teaching/in-servicing other health care professionals
Knowledge of Baxter Clinical Nutrition’s products/competitive stance is preferred/not required.
