Job Summary:
Responsible for transporting all patients following Hospital and departmental policies while maintaining awareness for opportunities to represent FGH by serving in its best interests. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Reports directly to the Radiation Oncology Office Manager.
Performance Expectations:
- Able to interact and assist patients in and out of their automobiles
- Able to assist in multiple areas as needed such as the cancer and OPACS centers
- Transports blood and other Lab items to hospital as required
- Provides assistance to Cancer Reception desk when required
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required; one year academic undergraduate work preferred.
Work Experience:
None required but preferably one year's experience in dealing with the public.
Mental Demands:
Ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely,
demonstrate initiative, set priorities, function under stress, and learn the appropriate work
procedures within established guidelines.
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below
