Position Purpose
The 2D & 3D Multimedia Producer is responsible for the creation of 2D & 3D assets for use in multimedia related projects for various departments at ASTM International. This position requires detailed understanding of 2D & 3D production programs, workflow, and technology, as well as the drive to stay current with industry trends.

Organization Role
The 2D & 3D Multimedia Producer will work with other ASTM departments to identify, develop, prioritize and deliver multimedia projects to support ASTM objectives and user needs. The position requires experience in a number of multimedia areas including video, audio, 2D & 3D animation, 3D modeling, 3D scanning, photogrammetry, etc. The 2D & 3D Multimedia Producer will design, generate, animate and export 2D & 3D assets multimedia for use in online, tablet, phone, and PC environments, with the ability to adapt to meet the needs of future formats when necessary. The position functions as an individual contributor.

2D & 3D multimedia assets will be created to support standards products and services, including but not limited to:

Standards content videos: demonstrate sample preparation, standards procedures, apparatus setup, etc.
Information videos: provide insight/awareness of membership services, new committee activities, ASTM practices and procedures
Author/editor videos: create product informative messages that support marketing activity
Online product demonstration videos: demonstrate online products and tools such as the ASTM Compass™, collaboration software, downloading standards, ASTM member videos, etc.
Interactive HTML: create 3D models that can be manipulated by users for a variety of applications such as training, information, promotional, technical industry use, etc.
The 2D & 3D Multimedia Producer will perform technical duties in the production of 2D & 3D animation projects including preproduction meetings, design, asset creation, animation, revision, recommendation of graphic approach for specific applications, utilization of multimedia production tools (software, hardware), and maintenance of multimedia assets archive.

The 2D & 3D Multimedia Producer will work with other departments to gain understanding of online products and services in order to produce online demonstration videos that directly capture video from computer displays and assess the need for further asset creation.

The position has no supervisory responsibilities, but may occasionally provide work direction to external vendors for assigned activities.


Key/Representative Activities:
Develop and implement a program for producing supporting 2d & 3D assets for videos that provide demonstrations of standards procedures, sample preparation, apparatus setup, etc., as needed.
Develop and implement a program for producing 2D & 3D assets for online demonstrations of ASTM products and services.
Work with various ASTM departmental staff to identify needs and prioritize projects
Work with Production Department and IT to deliver finished files.
Work with the Video Editor to determine production needs for 2D & 3D assets.
Provide training to relevant staff on capability of 2D & 3D animation/creation.
Develop budgetary information in cooperation with other departmental managers and meet budgetary targets.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Research, develop, and implement a plan for 2D & 3D asset workflow.
Identify contract resources necessary to maintain 2D & 3D multimedia content.
Implement and manage necessary workflow technology for 2D & 3D assets.
Work with IT to ensure proper technology considerations are made.

Minimum Requirements

Completion of secondary education and 2-3 years of progressive technical experiences in 2D & 3D multimedia production and workflow OR completion of college coursework in a related field.
Strong computer skills required including competencies in MS Office, the Adobe Creative Suite, 3D development tools such as Maya, Blender, Unity, etc.
A customer service orientation; strong communications/interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Excellent working knowledge of the entire range of video production from inception to delivery of final project
Excellent working knowledge of 2D & 3D development techniques and software, including the Adobe Cloud Creative Suite, Maya, Blender, Unity, or other comparable 3D authoring tools
Excellent working knowledge of video editing techniques and software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Encoder
Excellent working knowledge of video encoding and conversion techniques, protocols and software
Excellent working knowledge of video/3D player software and their file requirements
Understanding of online video capture software
Understanding of technologies supporting conversion of video to specific media delivery, including online, and mobile device format
Understanding of key supporting software.
