Fanatics Inc. is a leading online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise. The Company is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida and has approximately 3,580 full-time employees as of December 31, 2017. The Company offers hundreds of thousands of officially licensed items via its Fanatics (fanatics.com), FansEdge (fansedge.com), Kitbag (kitbag.com) and Majestic brands, as well as the largest selection of sports collectibles and memorabilia through Fanatics Authentic (sportsmemorabilia.com and fanaticsauthentic.com). In addition, the Company powers the e‑commerce sites of major professional sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, PGA), major media brands (NBC Sports Network, CBS Sports, FOX Sports) and over 400 collegiate and professional team properties.
The Company’s primary business is operating direct‑to‑consumer E‑commerce sites that the Company either owns or operates through contractual relationships with colleges, collegiate athletic conferences, professional sports teams, sports leagues, media networks, and other retailers. In the instances where the Company operates E‑commerce sites pursuant to contractual relationships, the Company pays a share of the proceeds to the contracting partner and the Company handles substantially all of the activities associated with the E‑commerce sales cycle. In most cases, the Company owns or operates the Web site, owns inventory, takes customer orders and ships the customer product from fulfillment centers that the Company or a third-party leases and operates. The customer product is either purchased from a third party or created in‑house through the Company’s Fanatics Brands product creation teams. Fanatics Apparel, LLC. (Fanatics Brands), a subsidiary of Fanatics, Inc., is the operation through which the Company produces licensed apparel, headwear, and other related product and sells primarily to retailers, including Fanatics, Inc. Due to the acquisition of LSG and the Majestic brand during 2017, the Fanatics Brands business has increased and is expected to continue to increase in to 2018 and beyond as we integrate the wholesale businesses and expand our supply chain verticalization efforts.
