Summary of Position:
As a Medicare Medical Biller at Arkansas Surgical Hospital, your primary responsibility will be to manage and process Medicare billing, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims. Knowledge of SSI billing is a valuable asset, although not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Medicare billing regulations and be able to navigate complex reimbursement processes to secure timely payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medicare Billing: Prepare, review, and submit Medicare claims for services provided, adhering to Medicare guidelines and regulations.
- Claims Management: Monitor the status of Medicare claims, resolve billing issues, and resubmit claims as needed to secure timely reimbursement.
- Coding and Documentation: Review medical records and documentation to assign accurate codes and descriptions for Medicare billing, ensuring compliance with CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) guidelines.
- Follow-up: Conduct follow-up with Medicare and SSI payers to track claim status, resolve denials, and secure payments.
- Reconciliation: Perform payment reconciliation, verify EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), and manage adjustments as necessary.
- Documentation Compliance: Ensure all billing documentation is complete and accurate, maintaining organized records for audit purposes.
- Training and Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to educate them on Medicare billing procedures and answer their billing-related inquiries.
Education:
High School diploma or G.E.D preferred.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Medicare billing is required; knowledge of SSI billing is a plus.
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations and guidelines is essential.
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing and coding.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management.
- Experience billing through SSI is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
