A successful candidate in this position will provide information systems security expertise to help develop policy and guidance for the Department's Cyber Security Program and assists the senior Cyber Security Program Manager in meeting EM cyber security objectives.
At the full performance level of this position (GS-14) you will:
Collaborate with programs, field sites, and contractor communities in developing, promoting and maintaining information assurance security measures to adequately and cost effectively protect se11sitive information and meet the Department's current and future business needs.
Ensure that department-wide security enhancement initiatives including implementation of training programs, firewalls, network intrusion detection, incident response and reporting, dissemination of threat information are consistent with cyber security policies.
Implement processes to ensure that cyber security weaknesses are identified, tracked, and resolved in accordance with departmental policy.
Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Researching and recommending the purchase of technologies that provide a cost benefit for information security systems.

Coordinating penetration testing of information systems in field offices to assess and discover vulnerabilities in conjunction with continuous monitoring activities
