Contribute to management decision-making and control by maintaining financial integrity and formulating and maintaining accounting procedures and controls. Partner with management to optimize plant performance. Direct Plant accounting activities in the preparation of timely, accurate, and effective financial statements, and safeguarding the assets of the company.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Not all Inclusive)
Provide financial and analytical support and serve as a key business partner and advisor to the General Manager and Plant Staff.
Prepare, understand, and present financial results in comparison to the annual business plan and periodic forecasting scenarios. Initiate and implement timely corrective action with plant leadership to capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
Develop and measure key financial performance indicators.
Monitor and evaluate monthly spending and absorption levels in order to meet overall company goals.
Lead monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process at the plant level.
Coordinate and support internal, external, and SOX audits, while participating in the audit reviews to insure no material audit adjustments or material internal control weaknesses are noted.
Assist in planning, developing and coordinating implementation of financial accounting systems. Formulate user plans that support Plant and Division objectives and coordinate activities with Information Technology.
Effectively and professionally, represent the plant in Corporate and government reporting matters. Maintain rapport, resolve differences of opinion within Corporate and division management.
Provide leadership and develop department staff while maintaining cost control.
Responsible for insuring internal controls are adequate around the Reporting Cycle, G/L maintenance, JE control, Account Reconciliation, User Privileges, Period-Open/Close and Risk Management Assessment.
Review and evaluate proposed capital investments.
Manage fixed asset accounting, making certain assets are classified properly, depreciated correctly, and maintained and verified timely in coordination with division staff.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Not all Inclusive)
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years recent related Manufacturing Accounting experience. Financial reporting experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and written and oral communication skills required.
Good leadership and project management skills.
Good working knowledge of SAP or other major accounting system.
