As a world-class retail and entertainment destination, American Dream is being developed by Triple Five Group, owners of the two largest shopping and entertainment centers in North America – Mall of America and West Edmonton Mall.

Opening in 2019, American Dream is approximately 3 million square feet and will redefine the customer experience in shopping and leisure with a unique combination of retail, dining, technology, entertainment and attractions - all in one location. Anchor tenant Saks Fifth Avenue - along with over 450 retail, food and specialty shops - are complimented by North America’s largest fully-enclosed indoor DreamWorks Water Park and Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park; a 16-story Big Snow Indoor Ski & Snow Park; Kidzania; a live Performing Arts Theater; 285-foot tall Observation Wheel; luxury movie theatres by Cinemex; Sea Life Aquarium, Lego Discovery Center; NHL-size Ice Rink; and two 18-hole miniature golf attractions. The center also features The Collections – a luxury and fashion area in the property and The Dining Terrace – a collection of fifteen full-service restaurants showcased in one location in the center.

Key Objective(s):
The main purpose of the Graphic Designer, Creative Operations is:

  • To be responsible for creative ideation and design of marketing projects which encompass; brand and global multi-media campaign deliverables, sponsorship/partnership deliverables, plus a range of deliverables that fulfill needs for; events, social, PR, digital, tourism, tenants, guest services and operations. This role is supported by external creative agencies and will be responsible for developing processes of efficiencies in design work-flow to best benefit the significant extent of necessary design requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish objectives for design within each project to determine best approach for design and the finished product
Design across a variety of media including; digital, interactive, social, outdoor, print, film/video, events and activations
Designing print and multi-media artwork for promotional events including; advertisements, brochures, flyers, major communication pieces, as well as on-site signage
Implementing brand guidelines in all design work and maintaining the graphic design network and storage of files/templates that can be easily be managed by production
Continual development of new, creative and fresh ideas for visual design and implementing them when/where appropriate
Brainstorming with creative agencies on campaign concepts and strategies for design execution across a variety of deliverables
Working cognitively around deadlines of multiple large-scale projects simultaneously

Desired Qualifications:
Post-secondary education with a degree in a graphic design program
A minimum of three (3) years-experience working in graphic design in relation to advertising and promotion
Proficient knowledge of Adobe CS4 including Dreamweaver and Flash as well as strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs
Strong creative ability and attention to detail as well as excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Proven ability to produce cutting-edge creative work and a master-level understanding of design
An ability to communicate how creative ideas translate across multi-media channels
Track record for designing for campaigns with multiple deliverables across multi-media platforms
Ability to identify and solve problems both independently and collaboratively
Strong work ethic with a team-orientated mindset and the ability to self-manage while adhering to company policy
