Manitowoc County Human Services Department is seeking a Court Liaison Officer. Working with a Department focusing on community wellness, this position coordinates with the court system and emergency mental health service providers to manage cases and/or monitor the status of all individuals under emergency detention, settlement agreement, or commitment to the Human Services Department.
Example of Duties
Acts as the Human Services Department central point of contact for all Settlement Agreements and involuntary commitments. This involves collaborating with hospitals, court system, law enforcement, group homes and crisis workers with a goal of moving people through the commitment process as efficiently as possible. Petitions for commitment extensions as necessary.
Screens all requests for commitment. Attends court hearings, consults with Court Commissioners, Corporation Counsel, and works with law enforcement to arrange transportation.
Provides case management for all individuals under commitment to the Human Services Department. Provides direct services and coordinates services with other providers. Provides training and assistance in developing and improving client's daily living skills.
Provides clinical consultation to other HSD staff and external service providers.
Provides training and consultation to other service providers, assisting them in initiating effective treatment parameters and treatment plans and following through with them.
Facilitates referral, admission, transfer and discharge arrangements with inpatient and residential facilities.
Generates and maintains clinical records and reports as per state standards and agency requirements.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or closely related field, and Social Worker or Counselor licensure is required. A Wisconsin Driver's license is also required.
