Communication & Employee Engagement Manager Job Description
Position Summary:
The primary purpose of the Communication and Employee Engagement Manager is to support the creation and implementation of the company's formal internal communications programs by assisting in the development of communications programs and vehicles to meet corporate and store operations needs and facilitate change within the organization. This position develops and implements a strategic, internal communication strategy and plans related programs in support of the company vision, key strategic initiatives and business priorities. The Internal Communication and Employee Engagement Manager drives associate engagement, culture, brand building, and change management efforts across existing and future communication channels.
Essential Duties And RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes communication strategies designed to disseminate corporate information or messaging to employees of the organization or their families/dependents
- Reviews and edits messages to ensure that they are clear, thorough, on-brand, and seek to preserve the company's image
- Develops message content and channels of communication that reflect the information being communicated and the audience being targeted
- Defines performance metrics and measures the success of specific communications
- Manages Employee Engagement Program and work with senior leadership to establish, facilitate, and communicate DTLR Culture
- Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management
- Ensure professional service is always provided in accordance with the expectations and guidelines of the HR department.
- Provides direction on identifying critical factors in a particular situation, gives guidance towards alternate courses of action and makes recommendations based upon all available facts.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelors’ degree or related field of expertise required. Masters preferred.
Skills And Knowledge Requirements:
- Work requires a solid knowledge of business and an excellent command of the English language to effectively communicate with management, associates and customers.
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Must demonstrate an ability to think strategically, plan and organize effectively.
- Must be able to maintain an exemplary degree of professionalism in all situations.
- Requires a proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
- Results driven with demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills. Project management, time management, analytical and superior organizational skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with the ability to use compassion and diplomacy.
- Ability to foster teamwork.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, multi-task, set priorities effectively and efficiently to proactively respond to changing demands, from multiple sources.
- The ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products is required.
- This position requires up to 25% travel.
