Accepting applications for a Live in Caregiver (LIC) for individuals with developmental disabilities. LIC is a companionship service and includes the provision of fellowship and protection. Fellowship means engaging the individual in social, physical and mental activities, such as conversation, reading, games, crafts or accompanying the individual on walks, on errands, to appointments or to social events. Protection means being present with the individual in their home, or to accompany the individual when outside of the home to monitor the individual’s safety and wellbeing. The role of a LIC does not include assistance with activities of daily living or medically related services.
Compensation for this position is room and board (the LIC’s portion of the rent, utilities, and food). The LIC will share a 2 bedroom apartment with the individual at the Century Sunrise apartments, and should be able to move on September 1st. Later start dates may be considered if the LIC and individual are a good match.
Requirements: Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting through Springbrook, if hired, complete paid initial training with Springbrook, MUST live with the individual and be available as a companion.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required, some college education preferred
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
