The Transit Project Specialist, is responsible for project management oversight and support of business-critical operations and scheduling technologies (Trapeze, Reveal, Eco Lane, etc.) which requires serving as a subject matter expert. The Transit Project Specialist, builds strong relationships with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the drivers for business change and enables strategic business goals and objectives through the use of technology and key operational components. These activities, overall, support the improvement of service quality and financial performance of MTM Transit.

Serve as an operational subject matter expert for Trapeze, Reveal, Eco Lane, and other routing, scheduling, dispatching, and reporting tools
Identifies opportunities of improvement where operational and technology solutions can be leveraged
Work with Operations and Business Development to support the startup of new locations
Maintain visibility into all planned and ongoing projects, and ensures that the impacts of these activities on the business organization are communicated to the appropriate business stakeholders in a timely manner
Maintain a thorough knowledge of MTM Transit departments and compliance programs
Provide support for questions or concerns that arise regarding MTM Transit, and addressing these in an appropriate, timely manner
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of ridership policies to ensure smooth transportation services
Maintain a “Safety First” attitude with the Client and all staff members
Act as a liaison between MTM Transit and the Client to address any concerns or issues that may arise and do so in a timely manner
Provide direction, as needed, to site managers and support staff, overseeing location performance assessments, training on operational and technology solutions and activities related to the implementation /configuration of those solutions
Special projects as required
Provide interim support and oversight of MTM Transit divisions as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
4+ years of experience in transit management with expertise in Fixed Route and para-transit from a larger system
Experience with Routing, Scheduling and Dispatch software
Prior contract and or project management experience
Experience identifying and establishing key processes and procedures
Proven experience in operation’s and management of staff
Proven experience supervising and monitoring the delivery of contractual services
Experience with program development and leadership

Ability to familiarize self with contractual requirements of transportation program and local operations dependent on location assigned to
Ability to familiarize self with the Client and service performance requirements
Ability to work independently and objectively
Ability to proactively address problems and delegate responsibility appropriately
Demonstrates leadership while working both in the field and office
Ability to make decisions without undue delay or over-reliance on others
Must have an ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with other staff
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Excellent technical writing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Extensive knowledge of transit and para-transit scheduling software
Extensive analytical and proven data collection methods
Previous knowledge and experience with maintenance, call center, and safety programs tied directly to para-transit and fixed route operations
Extensive knowledge of budget and cost analysis
Moderate to advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, or equivalent)
Exceptional interpretation and problem solving skills
