Cox, Kliewer & Company, PC, an award-winning, architectural design firm is seeking an experienced Architect/ Project Manager to join our Virginia Beach office.

The Project Manager position requires strong leadership and communication skills with expertise in specific project types (retail, mixed-use, multi family housing, etc). Monitors and tracks project progress, aged accounts, invoicing and budget, and is responsible for overall project performance and profitability. Develops schedules, budgets and proposals (contracts). Responsible for building, maintaining and managing client relationships. Has excellent technical knowledge and management skills and is able to Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of projects. Is involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently. Possess strong drive, motivation and self-initiative. Communicates and coordinates project requirements with the project team and consultants. Adheres to company policies.

Must be a team-player and able to adapt to various team structures, working independently and as part of a larger team. Job will include project management tasks including prime client liaison, project budgets and schedules, consultant coordination and team coordination. Job will include participation in marketing new work, proposal writing and contract coordination.

Required license or certification:

  • License in Architecture

Experience: Candidate needs specifically between 5 -10 years experience working within an architecture firm with an emphasis on client service, team management, and project management and a member of NCARB. Licensed in the State of Virginia a plus but if not, must be able to obtain.

Compensation will commensurate with experience.

  • Proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Acrobat, and Excel required.
