Position: Bookkeeper(s)

Position Status: Temporary to Permanent Position

Schedule: TBA

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Description

Bookkeeper(s) will be responsible for some or all of the organizations accounts for Exact Care Management staff. The individual selected for the position will be asked to complete various tasks while developing knowledge and key skills that benefit them as they develop in their career

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare daily deposits activities
Prepare participants billing statements and ensure that they are sent promptly
Review members billing statements to ensure the accuracy of information
Follow up on delinquent accounts and ensure payments where possible
Submit claims and resubmit denied claims
Ensure processing of payments from insurance companies
Maintain payment status and billing records
Perform data entry activities
Prepare reports and perform analysis of billing documents
Document transactions appropriately
Track and resolve billing discrepancies
Activate and deactivate patients’ accounts upon request
Work with healthcare providers, members, and insurance companies to ensure a timely payment of bills
Verify patients’ insurance coverage
Perform appeals on denied claims
Manage accounts receivable reports
Answer questions and resolve problems regarding medical billing activities
Use a variety of medical billing software to post charges
Oversee and audit billing systems and operations to ensure accuracy
Verify billing information posted
Other duties as appropriate
Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
At least 3 years prior accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
Navinet and Promise database experience preferred
Extremely self-motivated, responsible, responsive, and trustworthy
Ability to manage confidential information
