As a leader on the national Stars Strategy Analytics team, this individual will be accountable for collaborating in the redesign of a national Star survey measure strategy. You and your team will, through analytics, research, and relationships shape this strategy to:
Improve patient experience and overall health
Craft recommendations to policy-makers on how best to measure
Improve scores on the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey and Medicare Healthcare Outcomes Survey (HOS)
This position interfaces with all levels of leadership and requires varying levels of communication skills for conveying analysis outcomes and recommendations. We’re looking for someone who can focus on the big picture while drilling into the details to begin to resolve core challenges of our nation’s health care system. We are looking for a critical thinking, high-energy individual who will dig into the available data and think outside the box to determine best practices that achieve superior performance.

Own Medicare Star survey strategy end to end, including CAHPS and HOS
Understand key insights about survey performance (i.e., optimal number of surveys/which languages by contract; patterns in responses by mode; etc.) and use this information to define strategies for performance improvement
Partner with other data and analytics teams to identify opportunities and monitor performance
Generate strategies for specific CAHPS and HOS measure improvement, including new and innovative solutions to achieve 4+ Star performance
Define national best practices, and work with regional/contract-level partners to adapt as needed
Understand/use all reports and tools that support the national CAHPS and HOS programs; develop new reports/tools if needed
Develop presentations around insights and tell compelling stories with the data, and deliver to constituents at all levels: strategic, tactical, operational, and across functions: marketing, operations, finance, etc.
Communicate and present findings, orally and visually in a way that can be easily understood by business counterparts
Direct oversight of small team of analysts
Build trust and form effective relationships with stakeholders by working collaboratively, providing timely performance updates, partnering on issue resolution/mitigation strategies, and monitoring resolution of identified issues to conclusion
Demonstrate adaptability in a highly changing environment, quickly shifting focus as priorities change

Graduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Economics, or similar
5+ years of supervisory experience over analytical staff
5+ years of professional and/or academic experience with statistical modeling
Experience in identifying healthcare trends
Command of data storage theory and design
Strong Microsoft Office Skills with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Survey science focus (professional or academic)
SQL, SAS, Python, R, Excel, Tableau, Hadoop, Hive, Linux / Bash, SPSS, KNIME, Minitab, SPSS
Critical thinker- this position will need to evaluate merits of new and innovative ideas and make sound decisions
Strong communicator - this role will need to be comfortable presenting program objectives, process, and performance in multiple setting
Self-motivated and demonstrates an innate ability to absorb new concepts, technical frameworks, program paradigms while employing them creatively to solve complex analytical problems
Strong Relationship building skills with internal and practice teams to drive goal alignment
Demonstrated experience leading groups
Demonstrated experience presenting to senior leaders
High degree of emotional intelligence
Previous experience with Medicare, CAHPS, and HOS
