The University of Virginia, Department of Chemistry, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the group of Professor W. Dean Harman. The field of study will be development of novel synthetic organic methods using tungsten transition metal complexes. The research will require extensive experience in organic synthesis, various NMR characterization methods, and separation methods.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field is required in order to apply. Candidates are required to have extensive experience in organic synthesis. Knowledge and proficiency in mechanistic studies as well as experience with 2D NMR techniques, and HPLC are strongly preferred. Candidates are expected to play a leadership role in the laboratory as a mentor for both graduate and undergraduate students.
