The main responsibility of the Long Term Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to care for elderly patients under the supervision of an RN or a Physician. Frequently they work in non-hospital facilities with patients that can no longer live safely at home and provide an array of nursing duties to support medical needs, provide comfort cares, and assistance of ADLs.
Our long term care (LTC) LPNs will be working throughout different dynamic facilities including assisted living, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with vulnerable patients
- Evaluate the patient’s health, measure vitals, and treat as needed
- Administer medication and injections and CPR if necessary
- Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self-care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care
- Assist the patient with daily tasks such as bathing, feeding, and going to the bathroom
- Supervise CNAs and other support staff
Qualifications:
- At least one year of LTC experience required within the last two years
- Valid CPR/BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
