The Supply Chain Material Pricing & Estimating Team is responsible for the preparation, management and support of cost proposals for all Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) product lines.
As a Lead Supply Chain Pricing and Estimating Analyst (Principal Supply Chain Business Ops Specialist) you will work closely with the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team and gain valuable insights into other supply chain functions at IDS. Throughout your time, you will gain a broad foundational understanding of IDS GSC that will help to accelerate your career. The analyst’s work will have a direct impact on IDS’s competitive posture in the defense market and on customer satisfaction.
You’ll be responsible for the following deliverables into a proposal cost volume:
Managing Bill of Materials (BOM), in support of the proposal process, from receipt through submittal. Creating Material Basis of Estimate to assist in the capture of new and repeat business.
Issuing request for quote (RFQ) to suppliers and following up as required, analyzing quotes upon receipt in order to ensure compliance to government regulations, public law, and IDS policies/procedures.
Compiling and analyzing supplier and other available data in order to perform comprehensive price analyses.
Support and participate as necessary in audits with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) / Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
Perform independent assessments of supplier reasonableness, working closely with functions from across Integrated Defense Systems and IDS Global Business Services

The analyst’s work will have a direct impact on IDS’s competitive posture in the defense market and customer satisfaction. For these reasons a background in cost accounting, general accounting, estimating and pricing, supply chain, or a strong analytical skillset are preferred.
Mentoring team members on their proposal workload, assisting in the workflow to MP&E Team for the designated business area, and managing individual proposal workloadSupport customer status meetings on a daily/weekly basis
Act as a secondary supply chain BOE and Price Analysis approver for business area proposalsReview and management of MP&E’s templates and deliverables, leveraging R6s for continuous improvement opportunities with the team
6+ years of experience within Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Compliance, Contracts or Project Management or Military experience
Experience with estimating and pricing, proposal pricing, basis of estimates, issuing RFP’s, procurement, finance, or accounting.
Demonstrate self-starting, proactive characteristics including the ability to work with limited supervision and take ownership of a work scope with multiple, competing priorities.
Ability to independently interact with proposal counterparts; other Supply Chain functions including the Material Program Manager (MPM), Strategic Sourcing Technology Teams, Operations and Product Line Estimating and Pricing (E&P), Engineering, etc.
Ability to multitask & work well under pressure in dynamic environment.
Ability to resolve conflicts and problems quickly and effectively while maintaining independence and ethical behavior.
Ability to work collaboratively, open to sharing ideas and listening to others, open to new ways to drive improvements within the supply chain area.
Candidate should have an acute attention to detail for estimate development and review.
Experience utilizing appropriate analytical techniques to determine reasonableness of supplier proposals.
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Familiarity with the Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA).
Excellent verbal, written, analytical and presentation skills
Experience with MS Office Suite, with demonstrated expertise in MS Excel.
BS/BA degree in finance, business administration, supply chain, or related field of study
