The Medical Records Summarizer will be responsible for providing summaries of pertinent information found in medical records. Individuals in this position will review applications, medical records, exams, labs, interviews and evaluate risks based on client's underwriting guidelines. The key skill set needed is analyzing medical records and then completing accurate medical summarizations.
This would be an ideal position for RNs, MDs or individuals with prior clinical experience with knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Fully remote work from home position.
We offer part-time (15-35 hours per week) fee-based opportunities. Individuals working 30+ hours per week qualify for medical benefits.
Prior experience reviewing medical records and completing medical summarizations
Proven ability to work in a virtual / home office setting
Must be able to work independently and efficiently
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Well versed in internet applications
Home office with computer and dual monitors (Windows based systems)
Excellent time management skills
Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail
Health, Life, or Disability Insurance underwriting experience including medical records review and summarization within the last 5 years
Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent professional work experience
Completion of insurance related coursework and/or accreditations (LOMA & ALU)
