Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple teams covering various product categories and regions
  • Ensure appropriate controls and reviews are maintained for daily P&L production, taking traders sign off [Asset classes: Equities, Credit and Energy]
  • Ensure material commentary is issued daily as and when required
  • Ensure the teams are performing timely lockdown of daily and monthly P&L
  • Be able to substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in P&L and control accounts if any
  • Review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure
  • Review various reconciliation reports, management packs and ad hoc reports
  • Review of month end Journals for accrual, provision and true up
  • Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained
  • Ensure adherence to SLA’s, KPI’s, internal metrics and FMG wide policies
  • Identify and manage risk and control breakdowns
  • Develop and maintain effective and standard processes; maintain KOP’s | DI’s
  • Regular face off with Traders, Trading Finance Management, regional finance team and various internal stakeholders in GFS
  • Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, take regular feedback, anticipate and understand issues and escalate appropriately for timely resolution
  • Manage strong relationships with Support teams [trading finance IT, trading finance operations, trading finance risk] and bring synergies by interacting and integrating with cross functional teams
  • Maintain a pleasant workplace environment which is motivating and enables high performance within the team
  • Monitor people performance, provide timely feedback, perform annual and mid-year appraisals [including people development, pipeline | skills monitoring, and training programs]
  • Manage leavers and attrition, create sufficient backup | cross training
  • Minimize dependency on key people by cross training and succession planning; manage career and growth expectations of people
  • Leverage knowledge and skills sitting with other teams in the same location and similar teams sitting across the globe
  • Enable movement of people as and when required to manage resourcing across trading finance
  • Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements to current systems or migration to a new system
  • Focus to improve the process speed and accuracy in proactively identifying and eliminating operational risks
  • Coordinate new migrations which includes scoping of activities to be migrated, identifying people resources, travel planning, transition planning, monitor training and obtaining sign-off from all stakeholders
Qualifications:
  • You will hold a postgraduate | professional accounting qualification, preferably CPA or MBA.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the financial services industry with at least 3+ years of people management experience
  • A control mindset and ability to identify, mitigate and control gaps
  • A strong understanding of financial market products such as Equities, Energy, Commodities, Credit
  • An ability to develop, implement and maintain effective and standard operational processes
  • Excellent people and resource management skills; strong leadership skills and the ability to manage large teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; you need to be able to communicate across all levels of the business
  • Excellent business writing and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong planning, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ready to travel and work in shifts
  • Overseas experience would be a plus
