Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Sr. Threat-Vulnerability Analyst to provide support to Edgewater Federal government contracts.
Helps ensure the team completes projects, tasks, and initiatives on time and to standards.
Assists with standardizing processes within the team.
Presents communication and briefing documents across multiple teams and to client(s).
Provides Subject Matter Expert support and guidance to Information Security Systems Officers (ISSO), System Owners and others as needed through the risk management process, including monitoring remediation compliance.
Researches, organizes, writes, edits, trains and produces technical data, guidelines, templates, and policy to support Continuous Monitoring Programs.
Researches current and emerging information security exploits, threats, and vulnerabilities and disseminate contextual information to appropriate stakeholders.
Works with leadership to evaluate applicable solutions and conduct pilot/evaluation for proof of concept. Gathers and organizes technical information about an organizations security posture, its mission goals and needs, information systems, and networks. Proactively identify and troubleshoot problems within managed security tools.
Makes recommendations to mature the security posture of the vulnerability management program.
Performs risk-based assessments of current and emerging information security issues to support the mission by prioritizing remediation efforts.
Helps with the development and documentation of security guidance, policies, and procedures.
Collaborates with fellow Security Operations Teams to improve security awareness programs.
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass a security clearance background investigation.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Information Security-related certification (such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, etc.).
Ten or more years of professional work experience with at least eight years in IT Security.
Sound cyber security knowledge foundation, to include understanding of computer and network technology fundamentals.
Experience with engineering and management of security scanning tools in an enterprise environment to include installation, configuration, usage, and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated expertise with multiple Windows, Mac OS, Unix-based operating systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in MS Office 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Thorough understanding of protocols, network topologies, and perimeter security devices (proxies, IPS, IDS, Firewall, and packet analyzers), and network security design.
Ability to take direction and achieve quality results, independently strive for personal excellence when completing tasks.
Experience in a rapid paced, time-sensitive, highly collaborative environment.
Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to effectively communicate solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight, etc.).
Experience with government contracting firms supporting the Federal government.
Scripting experience (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.).
Experience with management of web application scanning tools (Netsparker, etc.).
Comprehensive knowledge of database security best practices and ability to make recommendations to improve existing processes (DBA experience preferred).
