This position will play a critical role in the accounting and reporting of the Company’s lease and debt obligations. The person in this role will be responsible for managing the daily, monthly and quarterly accounting tasks associated with the above mentioned areas, supporting senior accountants on the team to ensure activities in the space are executed correctly. This position will interact with Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business UnitsMana, Procurement, external auditors and other external service providers. This position will perform technical accounting and SEC research in order to provide management with timely information for decision-making and analysis. The position will also assist in other significant projects, which vary based on the Company’s business transactions and priorities (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, new policies, new types of transactions, training initiatives, benchmarking, etc.).
Working directly with procurement and various business unit personnel to understand and account for leasing activity post.
Review and approve accounting and reporting of lease activity, from ledger entry through the Company’s lease application used for journal entries and external reporting; includes but is not limited to adjustments for the Kraft Heinz 5-4-4 calendar
Provide support to senior accountants and stakeholders for exceptions and variances related to leasing.
Maintain and perform SOX controls aligned with the leasing process
Review annual disclosures to support SEC filings.
Monitor disclosure reports quarterly to ensure activity is reasonable
Provide leasing insight for financial planning and analysis
Monitoring US GAAP and SEC developments and evaluating the impacts of new accounting and reporting rules
Researching technical accounting matters
Working with external auditors
Assisting in projects relating to M&A activity, accounting and reporting as they become necessary
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience. Some public accounting experience in the Big 4 with emphasis in SEC engagements preferred
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization with shifting schedules and priorities
Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management a plus
Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
Ability to work efficiently and achieve results, while maintaining high quality
Excellent analytical, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills
