Sourcing Specialist (Job Number: 2305683 )
Position Summary:
The Sourcing Specialist will assist in effecting more efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximize profitability. This position will negotiate with suppliers to obtain goods, materials, and services at the best prices by using strategic sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of their commodity industry.
Major Responsibilities:
- Own service provider relationship management of smaller spend suppliers.
- Ensures supplier compliance to contract terms.
- Obtain quotes from different suppliers.
- Assess quotes and compile a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
- Generate quote comparisons used to determine supplier selection.
- Negotiate price, quantity, and delivery of schedules with suppliers.
- Work with the Legal department to ensure that all contracts relating to service procurement contains all details of the negotiation.
- Implement service provider optimization strategies.
- Provide process improvement solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
- Interact with suppliers at various levels while providing support across field and corporate departments.
- Other projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or other related field of study
- 3 years of Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain experience required
- Knowledge of procurement strategies and process improvement
- Ability to interact and coordinate with cross functional teams at various levels of the organization
- Possess a high level of negotiation skills
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
