We are looking for a proactive Field Operations Manager to lead our team of up to 100 field employees in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of pre-engineered metal buildings. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in managing crews, tools, and equipment to deliver quality results on every project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise Field Crews: Plan and coordinate daily activities, ensuring efficient use of labor and resources. Motivate and mentor team members, provide constructive feedback, and handle any performance issues.
- Manage Tools and Inventory: Keep a detailed inventory of tools, ensuring they are well-maintained and available when needed. Implement effective tracking systems to reduce loss and ensure operational readiness.
- Oversee Equipment Operations: Ensure all field equipment, from vehicles to specialized machinery, is maintained and in good working order. Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate Projects: Work closely with project managers to align field operations with project timelines and budgets. Monitor progress and address any challenges that arise to keep projects on track.
- Enforce Safety Standards: Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing safety regulations and conducting regular safety training and meetings. Ensure all field operations comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Facilitate Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear communication between field teams, project managers, and other departments. Prepare regular reports on crew performance, equipment status, and project updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in field operations management, ideally in the metal building or construction industry.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams and multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and safety protocols.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
