Our DFW Land Development group is looking for an entry level Construction Project Engineer to join the team.
Under the general guidance, direction and oversite of the Construction/Project Managers (CM/PMs) provide detailed engineering and administration support for the management of assigned construction projects.
Keep the Construction/Project Managers informed at all times of issues and questions needing management attention and provide them with management level status of all work activities assigned to you.
Duties may include:
Perform quantity take-offs, bid schedules and, with the assistance of the Project Team, Engineer’s opinion of probable construction costs.
Prepare construction contract documents.
Prepare agenda and attend Pre-bid meetings, and bid opening meetings.
Prepare Bid tabulations, notice of award and notice to proceed.
Attend construction meetings, as directed by the CM/PMs, prepare detailed draft meeting reports and update schedule in Microsoft Project.
Assist the CM/PMs with the review and evaluation of Contractor submittals, Shop Drawings and Request for Information (RFI).
Assist the CM/PMs with the review and evaluation of Contractor change requests and with the preparation and processing of change orders.
Assist the CM/PMs with the review and processing of Contractor payment applications.
Assist the CM/PMs with the closeout of construction projects including the monitoring and status reporting for the resolution of construction deficiencies.
Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is required
GPA of at least 3.0 is required
Previous internship is preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
