About Thomas Street Partners
Thomas Street Partners (TSP) is a private investment firm focused on middle market investment opportunities in the United States. Thomas Street Partners is run by a Harvard MBA and a Stanford JD/MBA, with experience across ten (10) industries. We have invested over $1 billion in equity transactions and led teams from dozens to hundreds. Our investors are funds, family offices and high net worth individuals, including the current Chairman of JetBlue, the leadership team of Asurion (the largest provider of device insurance), and the largest institutional search fund investor, Pacific Lake Partners.
If you join Thomas Street Partners, you will have an opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will work closely with our General Partners. You will quickly gain valuable experience. You will have an opportunity to become an expert on the fund’s investment strategy and be exposed to live deals and transactions. We employ techniques used in traditional private equity as well as startups. The training and experience we offer during the internship includes deal origination, growth marketing, valuations (comparable companies, comparable transactions, LBO, DCF) and lean methodologies.
We are looking for motivated, bright and self-directed people with an interest in private equity, and working in a startup environment. Local candidates are preferred but NOT required. We’re more interested in talent.
We are currently looking for Analysts Interns for remote work during the school year. The positions are unpaid but include a large training component (week by week sessions focused on industry analysis, deal sourcing, accounting, finance, valuation and modeling), and we are prepared to provide letters of recommendation and introductions to our vast network of contacts in management consulting, banks, private equity firms, or companies in technology, energy, healthcare, etc. If your school offers college credit for internships, we will work with you to receive credit.
This position represents a unique opportunity for highly-motivated individuals to assume a wide set of responsibilities and make a significant impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will play an integral role in sourcing deals and our investments. You will also gain valuable experience evaluating industries and potential investments, developing robust financial models, creating valuations (primarily LBO but also exposure to DCF and comparable company and precedent transaction analyses) and structuring transactions. We are looking for motivated and bright interns with an interest in working in private equity, and a startup environment. Analysts will be supervised by one of the Managing Partners, either Hill Hamrick or Sam Krieg, and may work closely with a Vice President at Thomas Street Partners.
