The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering all payroll systems and benefits (including medical, dental, HSA, FSA, 401k, STD, LTD, and life insurance) programs. This position works with other HR staff to ensure compliance in all human resource areas.
Administer payroll systems including processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees. Maintain employee census data. Ensure I9 documents are completed in a timely fashion. Responsible for E-Verify input and storing secure, related documents.
Administer and communicate benefit, retirement, Employee Assistance, and wellness programs, ensure statutory compliance with FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, OSHA, DOL, OFCCP/AAP, and HIPAA, oversee annual filings and audits as well as administer LOA programs. Keep accurate and complete documentation. Responds to DOL unemployment letters in regards to compensation.
Administrator over 401K; fiduciary committee secretary. Responsible for annual notices, quarterly enrollments, verifying account activity daily, timely deposits, and in general any retirement communications.
Coach and counsel supervisors and managers for successful employee relations, corrective action and DOL administration. Assist as needed in executing a wide variety of employee relations functions including recognition events, internal fundraising drives, goodwill events, employee sales, etc.
Administration of a variety of HR programs including the corporate Workers Compensation program, Corporate Safety Program, and OSHA reporting. Follow any investigations through to appropriate completion. Keep accurate and complete documentation on all issues.
Recommend new programs or enhancements based on cost/benefit analyses, benchmarking, and alignment with the company’s strategic direction.
Provide necessary analysis of benefits and compensation for management; pulls census data for annual renewals; audits monthly benefit invoices to current enrollments; responsible for ongoing changes to enrollments for all benefits; maintaining benefit files on employee population.
Stay abreast of new tools available in the market to improve on tasks management; attend webinars on related products that could benefit the company; meet with outside providers to ensure we are using the best products for our business.
Educate and assist supervisors and managers on HRIS questions and issues.
Assist in administering all HR functions that include employee relations, compliance programs, policy administration and implementation of key human resources initiatives that support the needs of the business.
Act as a corporate contact for all remote locations for Human Resources assistance.
Responds in a timely manner to employee problems, questions and concerns.
Responsible for maintaining employee files and security as well as retention around employee confidential data.
Travel less than 15% annually.
Required to maintain consistent and acceptable attendance according to the assigned schedule provided by the manager.
Meet departmental goals and defined key performance indicators (KPIs).
Other duties as assigned.
4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or 5+ years Compensation and Benefits experience in a progressive HR and manufacturing environment required.
Previous experience processing payroll in multiple state environment required.
Excellent communications skills, cross-functional collaboration skills, strong planning and project management skills, strong HRIS skills, and be able to work well with colleagues at all levels.
Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and reporting requirements, enrollment processes and plan administration with corporate benefits experience preferred.
Ability to build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with company professionals at all levels throughout the organization required.
Experience with Paycom platform preferred.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now platform preferred.
Human Resources Professional certification(s) preferred. (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, CBP, APA, CPP, etc.).
Bilingual skills preferred. (English and Spanish)
