Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Program Director supports new and existing client and learner outreach and business development activities. This role is critical to building a set of program opportunities that increases market and brand awareness and revenue attainment for Maryland Smith. The Program Director will support the planning of outreach campaigns, interact with potential clients and learners, and use SalesForce and other tools to manage the program pipeline and its growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience, including client service, project management, budget and proposal management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Strong client service values and a high level of enthusiasm in dealing with internal and external clients.
- Ability to make effective use of time, plan ahead, and coordinate multiple projects, while still paying close attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Must be a dynamic customer service oriented person who displays sound judgment and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in current word processing, email, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Social media marketing and e-mail campaign management skills will be useful.
- Willingness and ability to learn proprietary software and audiovisual equipment.
- Willingness to take on duties outside of specific job functions to serve needs of the School.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends, travel within the Metro DC area, and, when necessary, travel to client sites around the United States.

Preferences:
Preferences:
- Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar degree.
- 3-6 years of work experience, including client service, project management, budget and proposal management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a Research I university as an instructor, instructional designer, instructional coach, or graduate student.
- Experience managing major corporate client relationships and/or events, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and facilitating the delivery of world-class service.
