Job Summary

Research the design, plan, development and evaluation of advanced Long Term Evolution (LTE) Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into a final product design for projects of the highest complexity and technologies. Perform in depth assessment of the customer’s networked application need. Provide network modeling and simulation testing. Review detailed RAN designs and participate in test strategy development. Develop a test requirements matrix, test cases, test procedures, define the test environment, ensure the test environment is implemented to specifications and define/request test equipment and test devices. Work with vendors to isolate root cause and validate issue resolutions; and ensure successful field integration tests.

Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or closely related degree plus 2 years of related hands-on lab testing experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or closely related degree plus 4 years of related hands-on lab testing experience. Related LTE RAN experience should include: research, design, planning, development and testing of new advanced network technologies, network components and radio frequency (RF) and wireless transmission; Lab test and validation experience in Radio Access Networks; LTE (TDD and/or FDD) experience; 4G/5G wireless RAN system design, integration, optimization, operation and SME in access/backhaul technologies (LTE); First hand detailed experience in LTE RAN testing required, including developing requirements, test case & procedure development, test environment design and configuration, test execution, data processing & analysis, issue root cause analysis, and resolution and test reporting. Must have ability to: operate and understand results from test equipment including, but not limited to, channel emulator, spectrum analyzer, UE simulators, power meter, digital voltmeter, video quality, and function generator; and create and update complex end-to-end network designs to meet business needs. Familiarity required with major operating systems and tools such as Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, and HP UX. Strong hands on background with network, transport and other protocol stacks including 3GPP, UTRAN, SIGTRAN Protocols, Mobile IP, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP. Field integration test support requires travel up to 10% of the time.
