Transportation Assistant (Part-Time)

Position Overview:
Johnsonville, LLC and its Members are committed to having the highest impact on our Customers’ success. Our Transportation Team is committed to this goal and has an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who is dedicated to providing exceptional hassle-free service to our customers and innovative solutions to process improvement. This position allows for a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate efforts between drivers, transportation planners and coaches
Develop/maintain strong relationships with the transportation and customer service team
Analyze opportunities as well as plan and execute actions supporting process improvement initiatives
Analyze outbound routes and backhauls and work with the transportation planners to improve results
Responsible to communicate important company information to the drivers
Support daily dispatch/office functions i.e. answer phones, make customer delivery appointments, driver rotation schedule, vacations, scheduling of company equipment, etc.
Participate/represent drivers at company meetings
Lead by example and collaborate in decision making process
Lead change that will support our team initiatives; cost, service, personal development
Develop month end billing and reporting
Verify and follow up with drivers to ensure completion of weekly reports
Distribute supporting documents and data to outside third party service providers
Schedule private fleet loads according to DOT regulations
Have a passion for and demonstrate safety on a daily basis

Education:
Associates Degree in Operations or Supply Chain management a plus

Experience:
At least 3 years of transportation experience strongly preferred
Experience in a leadership/management position a plus

Skills and Competencies:
Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations
SAP/TMS/PeopleNet experience a plus
Strong interpersonal skills
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, both in an office setting and electronically
Strong math and analytical skills a plus
Proven communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Strong problem solving skills
Demonstrate Microsoft application skills i.e. excel, word, power point and access
