Edgewater is currently seeking a Intermediate Security Engineer to support our federal customer in the Washington DC area.
Help determine, plan, and coordinate the IT security programs, policies, baselines, and roadmap;
Provide security architecture and design consultation to achieve security goals and to maintain compliance with federal mandates;
Perform advanced incident response and troubleshooting activities upon escalation from the SOC;
Implement and manage security tools and processes;
Provide security and industry expertise and assessments for all CPICs and recommend new investments to leadership;
Provide security expertise for all Change Requests, ensuring potential risk are being identified and mitigated;
Participate in quarterly meetings to provide security architecture expertise for matters presented to EA working group;
Perform initial assessments of new systems, including testing and documentation required for ATO and support the A&A group going forward.
Bachelor's degree in cyber security, information technology or related field;
4+ years of experience in information security;
1+ years of experience with NIST 800-53;
Experience in Linux environment preferred;
Experience implementing and managing Splunk preferred;
Security certification preferred (CISSP, Security+, CAP, CEH)
Understanding of networking preferred.
