The Fiscal Technician provides exceptional customer service, coordinates procurement activities, maintains accurate fiscal/accounting-related data, and provides a full range of business support to our district office functions. Responsibilities include maintaining, calculating, researching, validating, and performing data input for financial transactions which include time and attendance, accounts payable, employee expenses, inventory, procurement, small purchase charge card (SPCC) direct charge, travel expenses, and other types of fiscal service transactions. Interprets and applies basic policies and procedures related to financial transactions and general business operations. Maintains files, processes resource information, and responds to inquiries from the general public and employees.
Position is located in the Salem District complex Business Office.

Considerable knowledge of and experience with basic accounting, bookkeeping, and business principles sufficient to monitor and analyze data. Ability to accurately perform data entry into computerized financial systems. Ability to maintain orderly and easily accessible files, and to purge and dispose of files in accordance with record retention guidelines and schedules. Knowledge of office/program support activities. Ability to interpret and apply basic policies and procedures. Proficiency with basic math skills. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and external customers. Skill in providing exceptional customer service. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Experience with procurement and inventory processes. Experience performing high volume data entry into computerized financial systems.
This position is designated as essential and, as such, all duties associated with this job are required during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response, and emergency operations. Will be required to work outside normal hours in emergency situations.
Fingerprint-based background check required. References, work history, and DMV records will be verified. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of records check conducted by the Agency.
