The incumbent of this position provides support to the Physical and Biological Sciences Branch Chief on various administrative and financial functions through the performance of duties that contribute directly to the operation of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR).
Provides administrative guidance/support and financial assistance to multi-level supervisors of numerous organizational units of AFOSR as well as academic institutions
Plans, establishes and oversees directorate administrative procedures
Provides administrative assistance on domestic and foreign travel in accordance with appropriate travel regulations to include inputting travel orders and vouchers into the Defense Travel System
Tracks, monitors and reports allocated Branch travel budget and expenditures. Screens incoming calls and mail, including electronic mail to identify critical correspondence
Responsible for the Job Order Cost Accounting System (JOCAS), inputting time and attendance for the division
Tracks, monitors and reports on all incoming correspondence to meet suspenses
Serves as the primary Records Custodian ensuring all official AFOSR records are maintained, protected and disposed of in accordance with applicable directives
Provides efficient administrative support to directorate leadership for accurate schedule management, procuring office supplies, and preparing outgoing correspondence.
Occasional travel - Although very minimal if any, you may be expected to travel for this position.
