Are you excited about Alexa and the future of voice? If yes, then you’ll fit right in as the Alexa Voice Service team's Tech Writer.

Alexa is Amazon’s intelligent voice assistant that powers devices such as the Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Show, Sonos One and ecobee4. We’re looking for a scrappy writer who can hit the ground running and create the content, tools, and educational materials that enable third-party developers to easily integrate Alexa into their products. Your expertise will include strong contextual writing, a love for coherent information architecture, and a hankering to dive deep and get things right.

As a Tech Writer for AVS, you’ll need to put yourself in the shoes of developers and designers to deliver the content they need to get started quickly and to launch new voice-enabled products. Help us write the documentation for a developer audience, so we can get back to designing.

The ideal candidate is an independent and curious self-starter with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality developer focused technical content, drive complex documentation projects, collaborate with designers and technologists, and quickly grasp new technical concepts with enthusiasm.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical content creation within a large enterprise Documentation team, technical writing team, Professional Services organization, or similar practice
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Design, or related field
Experience writing for the IT pro audience, dev ops audience, or developer audience
Experience working directly with designers and technical subject matter experts
Experience reading code in C++, Java, or Python
Experience using multiple documentation tools to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to deal with ambiguous problems, troubleshoot, and build solutions with proper project management.
Ability to influence multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional projects across category or other departments.
Demonstrated ability to make the complex simple through written documentation
Experience adhering to technical style guides, such as MSTP and obsessive about technical accuracy
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and use web metrics to gauge trends and evaluate content in an unbiased fashion.
