SUNY Cortland invites applications for a full-time, senior software engineer to be a member of a modern technical team responsible for full-stack software development, user experience design, cloud environments, automation, data centers, and storage infrastructures in the Department of Systems Administration and Web Services (SAWS). Develop, administer, and implement innovative solutions for our campus community.
The senior software engineer will Architect, implement and install cloud-based and on-premise software solutions. Create and support integrations utilizing a variety of developmental methodologies. Highlights include PowerShell, Oracle, Office 365, .Net, and API integrations. This position adheres to following the software development life cycle. The senior software engineer will be required to develop documentation, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and produce clean code. They will be responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, security, and emerging technologies, study information needs, confer with users, and study systems flow, data usage and work processes as it relates to SUNY Cortland.
A bachelor’s degree is required as well as two years of experience working in a software development environment, two years of experience developing web-based applications and APIs, and two years of experience in Database Development. Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with .Net, PowerShell, MVC, Office 365; familiarity with source control, and; experience working in a higher education environment, and/or; experience working with web-based Single Sign-On environments utilizing SAML, CAS and OAUTH.
