The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join us in North America. In this role, you will help protect strategic customers using Red Hat's portfolio of enterprise software solutions. We believe that protecting customers and communities from digital security threats and providing quality information needed to mitigate risk and privacy concerns is an integral part of what we do. As someone passionate about open source, security, and risk management, you will help us achieve that vision. Using open source principles every day, you’ll be a part of a team responsible for working with internal product and engineering teams that secure, test, and maintain Red Hat’s open source solutions. You’ll collaborate with geographically distributed teams, focusing on different solutions and projects, coordinating product deliverables and schedules. You’ll be essential to the success and growth of our portfolio of offerings through the championing of security awareness for our offerings. As a Senior Program Manager, you’ll need to use your expertise in both program management and business analysis to understand the requirements and business drivers for a variety of Red Hat’s offerings and solutions. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor, facilitating collaboration and fostering relationships between multiple teams. This role may be performed remotely from anywhere in North America, or on-site in Raleigh, NC or Westford, MA. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities:
Develop and nurture key relationships with product management and product, quality, and release engineering management teams
Serve as the single point of contact for program activities, schedules, and statuses
Facilitate the collection of requirements, prioritization, and resources with a mind to define and implement new and existing processes
Manage (track and record) risk in our offerings and escalate as appropriate
Maintain regular communications with Product Security leadership about offerings that you are responsible for
Track offerings receiving security support and maintain the product database which contains life cycles and documented support exceptions
Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability for individual and cross-functional teams
5+ years of experience delivering technology-related services or offerings
Technical knowledge of and experience with software development
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams distributed across the globe
Excellent risk mitigation and change management skills
Familiarity with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems
Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment; ability to bring different groups of people together to collaborate in a community environment
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
Bachelor's degree in a related field
The following are considered a plus:
Experience with risk and change management program management
Experience with the Agile product development methodology
Industry certification such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar
Experience with open source software
