For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.
Job Description:
Provides day-to-day direction to the technical staff to achieve optimum workflow with minimum errors. Supports the General Supervisor by performing a combination of activities.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a medical laboratory technology from accredited institution OR from have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) accredited institution

OR Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university, AND successful completion of the applicable NAACLS accredited laboratory program.

Two (2) years working as a technologist in a clinical laboratory with demonstrated leadership skills

ASCP or equivalent certification

Effective communication of English language both written and verbal

Proficiency in HHC Computer systems i.e. EPIC, SunQuest, CoPath preferred but not required
