Role Summary
As a Full Stack Developer at U.Group, you will be part of an integrated project team delivering scalable and secure systems. You will use user-centered and agile methodologies to build and continuously deploying the server and client side solutions. As a member of a project delivery team, you will collaborate with project and product managers, user experience designers, and business analysts. Your efforts will directly serve and assist end-users. Your work will be produced in the context of U.Group’s DevSecOps practices, including but not limited to continuous development, deployment, integration, and monitoring. Our solutions need to be “cloud-first”, scalable, and deployed in containers. Full stack engineers at U.Group are expected to have experience developing or integrating databases as well as developing and integrating server and client applications.

Project overview
U.Group was recently awarded a project to provide development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) services that include artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI/ML) to support an office within the Department of Homeland Security. On this team, you will be operating and modernizing complex, legacy, large-scale, Internet facing websites and IT systems in the cloud using forward-thinking, modern, open source technologies and backend system. You will perform the full suite of DevSecOps tasks in AWS cloud environment using agile methodologies, including participating in creating user stories for both business functionality and technical requirements and defining, but not limited to acceptance criteria; estimating the size of stories; designing solutions including business/system/data architecture.

Citizenship Status: US Citizenship required and have resided in the U.S. for three of the past five years.
Location: DC Metro Region | Arlington, VA | Portland, OR | Indianapolis, IN and other pod locations to be determined
Clearance: Ability to obtain public trust or higher

You will:
Deploy secure and performant databases using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Write and deploy server-side applications in containerized environment on AWS
Re-factor server-side data-center applications to run on AWS
Provide application programming interfaces (APIs) and services
Extend knowledge base and delivery capacity for using machine-learning to identify risk and fraud

What it takes:
Languages: Java, JavaScript or Python
Frameworks: Spring Boot or REST
Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Logging and Reporting: ELK Stack or splunk
Configuration management: cloud formation or terra form
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment - Experience in Jenkins (current state) or Concourse (future state platform)
Agile Software Delivery Experience
Proficient and committed to Test Driven Development (TDD)

Nice to have:
Experience in: Kotlin, Scala, Cassandra, Kubernetes, GRPC, Lamdas, TypeScript, Prometheus or design pattern.
CISSP
Active Security Clearance (Secret or higher)
