Matterport is seeking a versatile Business Development professional who can help plot the future course of our growth in the coming years. We have successfully achieved “hit product” status in several vertical markets and see near term opportunity for success in new ones. This person will be on the front lines, leveraging our initial foothold by closing deals with substantial early adopter partners. The selected candidate will be a deal maker at heart who thrives on finding and exploiting product / market fit, who loves to immerse themselves with customers to help them solve problems with disruptive technology.
This position is based in Sunnyvale or San Francisco.
Lead the development and growth of the Matterport partner ecosystem within high priority new vertical markets where we have strong product/market fit.
Identify, cultivate and close strategic partnerships with key industry players
Seed new market verticals by identifying and structuring relationships with key early adopter partners.
Work with early partners to identify, articulate and prioritize market requirements and value proposition / business case.
Formulate and launch go-to-market strategy for key verticals in collaboration with Marketing, Sales and Product
Structure and negotiate partnership deal terms with senior level external counterparts in collaboration with internal sales, product, and marketing teams
Build and manage programs to grow our delivery channel and foster a community of happy, enthusiastic service partners
Build sales channel partnerships as required
Build consensus internally among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making within senior-level audiences
Lead execution against recommendations quickly and with flawless accuracy
2-4 years of experience in business development and/or strategic account management
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, MBA preferred
A love and passion for technology, especially 3D, VR and AR
Rich experience in business development / partnerships/ account management
Demonstrated strengths in external relationship building
Demonstrated skills with driven decision making including strong analytical, and strategic capabilities
Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to compellingly articulate value propositions and partnership opportunities
Demonstrated ability to work with little or no guidance
Comfortable operating in a rapidly changing, fast paced industry with the ability to manage an evolving product set and partner needs
A constant sense of urgency and persistence needed to break through internal and partner organizations
Excellent negotiating and closing skills
