Summary
This position is located in DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, D11, Sector San Diego, San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities
The selectee serves as an Intelligence Operations Specialist within the Sector's Intelligence staff for Sector San Diego, CA. The duties may include the selectee to work at offsite locations as a member of the Interagency Regional Coordinating Mechanism Intelligence Group (RIG)

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

Assistng in management and oversight of Sector intelligence program in accordance with Coast Guard policy.
Coordinating the intelligence component of Sector participation in any National Special Security Event (NSSE).
Providing intelligence input and participation for coordination for the conduct of contingency exercises and operations.
Participating in the establishment of 24/7 intelligence watch rotation during contingency operations or surge activities.
Ensuring that information concerning the intelligence program mission, organizations, composition, staffing, equipment, or activities shall be marked and handled in accordance with COMDTINST 5260.3 (series).
Ensuring information collected and reported by Sector persons is handled in accordance with applicable Commandant, Area, District, and Sector directives pertaining to intelligence collection and reporting, including guidance on classification reports.
Conducting all-source analysis and craft intelligence assessment supporting maritime smuggling operation, if assigned to work as a part or full time member of the RIG Serve as subject matter expert for Coast Guard Intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level (in the Federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
