Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. Prospective mid level credit trader will be responsible for market making, position management and client interaction in high grade corporate bonds.
Trading high grade corporate bonds.
Effectively managing risk positions across high grade credit within internal trading mandate.
Work with research and sales to source and develop unique trade ideas to introduce to clients and create liquidity.
Create and maintain relationships with buy-side trading counterparts, internal sales and trading personnel across all trading desks, and internal business partners.
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: capital markets, investment banking or industry-specific sector; or a PhD in quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or engineering obtained by date of hire; or MBA; or 6+ years of former military experience
FINRA registration including Series 7 and 63 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Knowledge and understanding of Investment tools such as Bloomberg or Factset application
Other Desired Qualifications
Candidate needs to possess exceptional credit knowledge with a history of managing risk in high grade credits.
Candidate must have strong analytical skills, financial modeling, and an understanding of all credit products.
Candidate has to have established relationships across the high grade credit markets including buy-side clients.
Candidate needs to be organized, affable, and able to work in a congenial, team-oriented environment.
Candidate needs to be self-motivated possess exceptional communication skills.
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
